After a long time coming, Dr. Rech finally designed a logo for the lab. That means its only a matter of time until we start getting official Rech Research Lab merch.

The research group has grown quite significantly compared to just one year ago. Here is an updated group photo of everyone. From left to right we have Helin, Jacob, Rich, Margaret, Reagan, Julian, Mansi, Andrew, Adam, and Dr. Rech.

This summer we had Rich, Margaret, Reagan, Julian, Andrew, and Adam working in the lab. While the “days since last lab incident” number on the whiteboard seem to stay in the low single digits, we had a lot of fun and made some great progress on projects. If you happened to walk past Zeis 022 (the lab) at nearly any point this summer, it was almost guaranteed that you would hear laughter.

Adam presented his research at the Appalachian Energy Summit in early June. Poster presentations were judged an Adam won the Grand Prize in the undergraduate category for the best poster!! A huge congrats, and thanks for representing the group.

Rich, our high school student from Nesbitt Discovery Academy, also presented a poster showing his work through the ACS SEED program. Check out this article highlighting the inaugural program: LINK

We also submitted our first manuscript for publication and look forward to sharing it with you when it gets accepted. As our summer winds down, we are ready for the hustle and bustle that the start of the semester brings.
